Planning a wedding in 2025? You’ve likely noticed: pricing is… different – yes – HIGHER. From global supply chain shifts to rising labor and shipping costs, couples everywhere are feeling the squeeze. At Just Bloom’d Weddings, we firmly believe in transparency and artistry—so we wanted to get real about what’s really going on with the ‘boom’ behind the blooms.
We know that talking about wedding budgets can feel really overwhelming, but if you’re planning a wedding in Boston, the MetroWest suburbs, or a dreamy New England destination, we argue that your floral budget is one of the BIGGEST tools in architecting your event’s mood, palette, and overall story of love on the day. Florals just elevate a wedding in a way that nothing else can – texture, scent, color, and just – breathtaking blooms. We might be a bit biased, though! 🙂
In our new “Ask a Florist Fridays” series, we’re diving into some of the hard-hitting (and most helpful) questions couples ask us every week.
First up: what actually impacts the price of wedding flowers in 2025? And how can you make the most of your budget while still creating a stunning, meaningful day?
The harsh reality? Fresh blooms are more expensive in 2025. Between global inflation, climate disruptions affecting farms, and new import tariffs on South American-grown flowers, wholesale prices have risen across the board. This means your florist is navigating higher base costs before we even begin designing. And that’s crazy town!
We pride ourselves on working smart AND within your budget—but these industry shifts affect even the most cost-conscious designs and ideas.
OUR ASK A FLORIST PRO TIP: Be flexible with flower types and prioritize overall vibe instead of specific stems. Please, trust your designer to source the best seasonal options available locally and globally.
A single lush centerpiece and a ground floral arch might use the same amount of product—but one could take hours longer to create and install. Labor, setup time, transportation, and strike are all built into your floral quote.
Want to repurpose your ceremony florals? YES PLEASE. We love working with couples to stretch their budget by designing florals that can move from ceremony to reception—and still look fresh.
OUR ASK A FLORIST PRO TIP: Bouquets, aisle meadows, ground arches, and bud vase clusters all repurpose beautifully. Ask us about your venue’s layout and timing, and we’ll make it happen.
(And don’t forget the candles!)
Florals are often priced per table or per arrangement. That means if your guest count shifts from 100 to 150, you’re adding more centerpieces, candles, rentals, and setup hours.
This is one detail couples often overlook! Round tables are typically more straightforward to design for—a single centerpiece or a few bud vases and candles often do the trick.
But long tables (especially head tables) need much more coverage than you might think. To maintain visual balance and a lush tablescape, we recommend a medium 6×6 centerpiece every 2–3 seats, interspersed with bud vases, greenery garland or snippets, and plenty of candles. All of that adds up—so if you’re planning a lot of long tables, it’s worth discussing early on.
OUR ASK A FLORIST PRO TIP: Planning a wedding in MetroWest or Greater Boston? Venues vary greatly in size, layout and the ability to load-in and setup! Trust us, we know!
We help you map out what you actually need, and where you can scale back without losing the floral wow factor.
Every couple is different. For some, it’s all about the bouquet and statement arch. For others, it’s about a full immersive reception. You don’t have to do everything.
OUR ASK A FLORIST PRO TIP: We typically recommend pieces that you can repurpose, maximizing their impact across the event. Some ceremonies only last 20 minutes!
Our design team works with many couples between the $6,000 and $25,000 range, helping you determine where your money goes the furthest. Without compromising beauty, impact or scale.
One absolutely beautiful shift in 2025? More couples are choosing to repurpose their flowers in meaningful ways after the wedding.
We’re proud to partner with Theo’s Flowers, a nonprofit based here in Massachusetts. This incredible team delivers repurposed blooms to elders and families affected by dementia and memory disorders. We couldn’t be more grateful to the planning team at MK YOUR DREAM DAY for the introduction!
Your florals can live on beyond the day—spreading joy in our community.
No matter your floral budget, the most impactful events come from working with a florist who understands your priorities and knows how to make your vision come alive within your constraints.
